Precision measurement and control tools: Designed to ensure the wellbore trajectory accurately hits the target, acting effectively as the "eyes" and "steering wheel" for the drill bit. These primarily include rotary steerable systems (RSS), vertical drilling tools, high-precision measurement while drilling (MWD) instruments, and near-bit geosteering systems.


 Wellbore strengthening and special operation tools: Utilized to mitigate hazards in complex formations, guaranteeing wellbore stability and operational safety. Key examples include lost circulation materials, hole openers, and liner hangers.
